Mar 07 2010 - Waikiki / Hiking Diamond Head / Catamaran and SURF...

Surfing in Waikiki

Aloha from the paradise!

This morning we started the day with a delicious breakfast. We had food like macadamia pancakes and stuffed French toasts. But we were also able to order other delicious specialties from Hawaii. Today we split the group in half. One group went hiking and the other went on a tour with a catamaran. All people that went kinking loved it!!! They (using they, since we – the writers – went on the catamaran) hiked Diamond Head, an extinguished volcano… They hiked all the way to the top from the inside crater and they stated that they will never forget it!

We went to the catamaran and we had a wonderful time on the sun. It was nice ride and we were allowed to jump in the ice blue waters of Hawaii. After a couple hours of free time for lunch, our first surf lesson was scheduled. We got some introductions like how to stand up on the board and how to glide… it was time to catch some waves!

It was a lot of fun and it is an unforgettable opportunity to feel like a real “Hawaiian”. While some people were surfing, the others played games like football, volleyball and soccer. It was really exciting and we can really recommend it. After the surfing, we took a shower and we went to our restaurant. Salad, Pizza and brownies filled us up. Right next to the restaurant we found the International Market Place. We were able to find a lot of different and interesting stuff. It was a great opportunity to interact with the locals.

The way they live here is really relaxed. Hanging on the beach, sun bathing, listening to music and playing some games on the beach… but at the final… this is the life in paradise!
